Shoot your shot
Guys! You’ve been missed! So now that the year is coming to an end we all have an opportunity to try our luck one more time before we move to new year new me, no more fake friends and toxic people, resolutions 2018 and all that yadda yadda, plus the meme of the lady who walks up the stairs leaving the very same things she did the previous year. Anyway, recently on my Instagram I asked you guys to vote on whether you’d buy a book by a Kenyan author and you said yes. My girl wrote one (hey Krystin!) and went on twitter and tagged all her favorite international…

Readers digest 2!
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, *drum roll please….* a second digest! Another loyal reader has come to my aid and broken down the nitty gritties of making things work. It really isn’t hard, just the ABC’s of life. Enjoy! Don’t miss the sidebar down below. Dear Glynis, So I have been dating for a while now and everyone stills asks the question how do you make it work. Love is a beautiful thing I am a hopeless romantic. BUT love doesn’t take you all the way you may love a person but it does need work the same way you buy a car and you need to take…

"Love does not take you to the finish line"
Earlier last week I was watching Over 25’s latest video (link below) and Jules mentioned today’s blog post title. When I was young and naive, (always wanted to say this), I thought i’d get married and feed my man grapes in bed all day or we’d have candle lit dinners every night swimming in money from God knows where. Today of course i’d say I’m a bit wiser because I’ve realized it way harder for a man/woman to love sort of how God loves us. Our kind of love is triggered by so many things, you stop calling, I love you less, you stop replying my messages I put an…

Rest with the Angels.
I was working on what was meant to be today’s post when I got a phone call from a friend of mine. It’s been those weeks that have just been heavy and sometimes law school doesn’t let you breath so easy. So I was so relieved to be done with a post very long overdue. For one, I really don’t know how to receive bad news. As a person, I try to stay happy. I try to make sure all my friends are happy. I check on people to make sure they are okay when I see them whenever I can. On the flip side I have no shock absorbers…

Reader’s digest
This week we have a digest from our very own! I’m so excited! For the first time we have a male perspective on a couple of the posts from before. Of course it’s not just any guy. Abeg no. It is one very simple man loved by very many. Rumor has it he is one of JKUAT’s most eligible bachelor’s therefore really needs no introduction. And have you seen him on twirrer, even politicians fear him. He used to write a few years back, but since this age (read fame) of his is catching up he has decided to be an observer these days. May all his previous 400 plus…

Wife number 2.
First of all, (let’s catch this wave) Thank you so much for all the views in the last two posts, for sharing, for all the active mind blowing conversations. I love you all. So today is chapos Sunday at my house, as it is in most Kenyan homes. I don’t know what it is about chapos on a Sunday but they just make it glorious. Now, chapos Sunday means catching up with mum, and mother-daughter catching up is on another level. The mother-daughter bond in my view is unlike normal friendships. So we are talking and church vibes come up. I come from a church that is a bit mainstream.…

Baby mama fever!
I love getting away. If I had the money I’m sure I’d go on vacations more than Vera Sidika. Heck, if I had the money i’d be the female version of Jackson Biko, where people approach me to travel and write for them, such a glorious life. Well until we get filthy rich and can go to Greece over the weekend or to London for fall, a weekend in Mombasa every other random time will do and wherever else our pockets take us. I have finally used the SGR (yeeeey) I feel like such a Kenyan now. Slay queens please don’t judge, we know you were the first group to…

She's about to dive in!
Two months ago I did a post, Secrets from my diary, that basically was what I felt were the right vibes to pick out on when a guy likes a girl. Now after this post that got quite some views guys asked me to do them a solid. The following will be a series what seems very obvious but I ask that you trust the process. 1. She replies fast. Before I even delve into this I believe human beings are obvious, sadly we are, we may want to think our behavior is unique and we are different, but there is nothing new under the sun. If a shawty likes…

Influence
We never really know it all do we? I feel like this post might be as bit controversial, I am not even sure I want to go down this road considering it goes to the core of my being. But why not play around with words see where this leads us. I think it’s all a hoax, it’s all pegged on something else. There seems to be no ingenuity in how we do things in life. Human beings are very obvious as I have learnt, and there really is nothing new under the sun. I am not trying to be stoic, neither implicit, I just realized it’s really not that complicated.…

Scared to be lonely.
This morning in the midst of trying to pretend to be asleep for about 2 hours, because laziness can get real, I had a very interesting conversation with my friends. And we all know what happens where girls are gathered. So the discussion today was whether you would date a person you are not ‘connected’ to for lack of a better word. In my understanding being connected to someone means being the same headspace. Being able to identify with the person you are with. Being very headstrong about the person you are with regardless. (hizi head zimekuwa nyingi…) So would you? Would you let someone who you have no connection…
