Elizabeth Njambi – CEO and Founder Wakilisha
Back when I was at Kenya Model United Nations I had the amazing chance of meeting women who hold up other women. My confidence in leadership was made possible by a number of them including Elizabeth Njambi CEO and Founder of Wakilisha that you’ll know more about from this interview. 1. What inspired the establishment of Wakilisha? Two things, actually. In my last year of law school at the University of Nairobi, I attended my first legal aid exercise as a member of the Students’ Association for Legal Aid and Research (SALAR). I had always been scared of attending legal aid exercises because I couldn’t live with myself if I…

Are you happy?
The wild thing about life is we somehow believe that all the things ‘meant’ to make us happier are external. When we feel unhappy we are told to; meet up with some friends, go on a road trip, go to a new restaurant and try a new meal, go to the gym… then the world presents a situation where you can’t escape to find this happiness. A pandemic meant limited movement and erasing everything we thought was normal. Now you can’t do all the things that are meant to make you happier. You have to sit in a house by yourself or with some people you share a blood line…

7 Netflix Documentaries to watch
Today we have so much power at the touch of a button, good and also really bad stuff lies on the internet. It’s therefore up to us to make sure we can establish a balance. Here’s a few potentially life changing documentaries that open up your mind in ways that I believe are positive. 1. The Social Dilemma We all hear the horrors that Artificial Intelligence is taking over the world and before we know it robots will walk the face of the earth and take over everything. The theory here is that Social Media platforms that use AI are already there and the algorithms have a mind of their…

Ali Barbour’s cave restaurant
When you head to Diani this is definitely a stop you should make. They have an amazing service where they send a van to pick you up and drop you afterwards at your hotel or villa, all you need to do is make a reservation. Ali Barbour is a cave restaurant, yes it’s in a cave! It is breathtakingly beautiful. Part of me feels you go there to experience the ambiance. Noting I am not the biggest cave fan, I think this is a great experience for anyone. Watch it here from minute 3:20. They specialize in sea food and are pretty famous for it. I wasn’t keen on trying…

Diani, Kwale County
Traveling to Diani has always been of consequence and never intentional enough. This year I got to take a three-day trip as a break from a crazy schedule. Diani has a lot to offer here’s a few items to add to your bucket list 1. Beach walks2. Congo River3. Ali Barbour’s Cave Restaurant4. Wasini Island5. Dolphin watching6. Snorkeling7. Glass boat ride Since the pandemic is still with us, traveling isn’t what it was with declines of up to 90% in tourism at the coast, the only upside is better negotiating power and less crowding at the coast. Slowly by slowly though people are getting the confidence to travel again and…

Valentine Ayuko Mathenge – Writer and YouTuber
This week’s feature is yet another recommendation and someone I’ve come to really respect their content and hustle. Valentine’s platform is a positive one which she uses to share the word of God while not shoving it in your face, makes sense? Read it for yourself… 1. In your bio you share, ‘influencing you to think for yourself’ why is this essential for people who follow you? Wow, someone has really been stalking me huh? JK! Well this tagline came up from me not wanting to be referred to as an influencer. However earlier on this year I began noticing that people follow whoever I highlight on my stories, people…

About Thyme Restaurant
About Thyme is located in an intimate secluded area in the leafy suburbs of Westlands, Nairobi on Eldama Ravine road. It costs about Ksh. 250 to take an Uber from the CBD. The space is beautiful and cosy with an indoor and outdoor sitting area. I loved the outdoor because of the beautiful trees, the silence and fresh air that can give the illusion that you left Nairobi and are in the country side. Eat, drink, don’t think restaurant’s tag line The restaurant is great for group and intimate dates and dinners. They have complied with the Ministry of Health and government guidelines maintaining the 1.5 metre rule, requiring hand…

Anastasia Ng’ang’a – Entrepreneur and Digital Content Creator
This week’s feature is a recommended personality who shares nothing but great vibes and a pure heart. I am very happy to have interacted with a business mogul in the making who shares a sounding love for Christ. 1. Who is Anastasia Ng’ang’a? I describe myself as a warrior. A warrior is said to be confident, strong, aggressive, disciplined, very active and brave. Most importantly, Anastasia is a God fearing young woman. 2. You have always been unashamed in sharing how God is impactful in your life on Social Media, why is this important to you? I lived a very crazy lifestyle. I was always the life of the party…

Muthoni Drummer Queen – CTA 101
‘Own yours’ words that Muthoni Drummer Queen said that have changed my life from episode 13 of the CTA docuseries. ‘If you go through ten years and no one ever gives you money are you still saying you won’t do your gig? If you won’t do your gig it means that you are operating at the wrong scale. This is exactly what I need because this week I was monitoring my insights on one of my social platforms and realized I was losing just as many followers as I had gained. I was ranting about it because as a creative for years you feel like your audience is betraying you…
