5 restaurants you MUST try in Nairobi

There are quite a number of restaurants in this city. They offer dining experiences from all over the earth and compete for your money in the process. With all these options here are a few spots that seem to rank above all others watch the linked tiktoks for a full-on experience.

1. Frangos

This spot is such a vibe located on 5th Floor, Pioneer Point (CMS Africa House, Chania Ave, Nairobi basically at the heart of Kilimani. The space is beautiful and catching a sunset over a drink with great company is all you need after a long day at work.

Some options for you on the menu are:
🌟White Sweet Wine; Birds and bees – 500
🌟Pineapple and Ginger Mojito – 750 (happy hour limited to Thursday and Friday)
🌟Chilli Cheese Stake Fries -1200 (shareable between 2 people)
🌟Spiced gin – 800
🌟Frangos Spiced Mango Mojito – 800
🌟Mocktai Apes and Apples – 550
🌟Pastels de Nata – 600
🌟Handcut fries – 300
🌟Whisky Chivas Regal – 800
🌟Coke -250

Their frangos half chicken is a major selling point and it comes with two accompaniments of your choice and serves two. I highly recommend a reservation on Fridays since it gets quite packed.

2. Nabo Bistro

Nabo Bistro is located on 1297 Ole Nguruone Road, Lavington, Nairobi. It is inspired by the concept of the French Bistro tucked in the heart of Paris. It has a rustic & industrial decor that hopes to create a relaxing ambiance.

Here for starters we had wings at Ksh.690. We ordered a bottle of rosé for the table for Ksh. 3,000 then had the burgers for the main with half fries and half salad.

The burgers were the juicy jo for 1450 and the blue cheese burger at 1550. The juicy jo was definitely the winner of the two.

3. Shamba Cafe – Loresho

Shamba Cafe is a breath of fresh air. Located in Loresho Ridge, Nairobi it’s a break you need from the city.

While here we had the Margarita cocktail pitcher Ksh. 2000, the nyama platter for two with a side of fries at Ksh. 3,500. The food portions as you’ll see on the video are amazing we couldn’t finish the food!

Sunday afternoons are very busy so service can be a bit slow. I recommend going on weekdays if possible and definitely make a reservation ahead of your visit. It can also get quite windy and cold so carry a scarf or a coat.

Also, be sure to ask on any available offers or specials. They have pretty good ones. The prices are generally decent from 1000 to 1800 for a meal. The offers are however cheaper from our experience.

4. Mawimbi Sea Food

This restaurant is a beautiful spot located at the heart of Nairobi. We went here a couple of weeks ago for the world tequila day celebration courtesy of Nairobi Prime.

It is a fine dining restaurant located with a modern interior aesthetic and notably serves great seafood. It is really cute for events and parties.

5. Nyama Mama

Nyama Mama is an unpretentious, fun, modern-day African roadside diner. It is locally inspired with various Kenyan dishes and will have you nostalgic over your grandmothers mabati cups where they serve their cocktails and food platters made for sharing.

While here we had a platter that was made of chicken, ribs and goat meat with baby potatoes. It serves two we barely finished. Damage was Ksh. 3800 To end the night we had some cocktails during happy hour.
